Ervideira and the Monte da Ribeira and Herdadinha estates belong to the family which is directly descended from the Count D’Ervideira. A successful farmer of the XIX and XX centuries, the Count received his title from the Portuguese King D. Carlos I in recognition for the Count’s work as a public gure and politician, and for his dedicated social work in the region. He started producing wine in 1880, the rst bottles being on exhibition in Ervideira shops.
Harvesting is done at night so that the grapes keep their essence and quality owing to much lower temperatures and lack of UV rays.Transport to the winery is refrigerated to maintain the grape’s characteristics, fresh and ripe. The Evideira winery has the necessary technology to allow controlled wine-making. Ervideira wine production combines tradition with the modern and innovative.
Every Ervideira label has a history and a concept which is evident when tasting Ervideira wines. Special emphasis is given to the “Conde D’Ervideira” range—top of the range wines. Our aim with these was to commemorate the rst Conde D’Ervideira, from whom we have inherited his love of the land and dedication to the vines.
