Herdade dos Grous belongs to the Pohl family, the estate has 1000 hectares, 93 of which are dedicated to top quality wine production and the rest remains to organic horticultural production, olive groves, farming, cattle raising and breeding champion jumping horses.
Sustainability and nature are the foundations of this project.
Located in the Southern part of Portugal in Alentejo region, 20Km south of Beja. The continental climate with Mediterranean influences and the sedimentary schist and greywack soils allow perfect conditions to great wine production. The Summer is warm and the temperature range between day and night allows good maturation of the grapes. Spring and autumn are mild with several sunny days. The winter is cool with precipitation levels enough to restore dams and rivers levels.
Our wines result from the most modern viticulture and oenology, selecting the typical Alentejo varieties, such as Antão Vaz or Aragonez, and also other international varieties which complete our signature range.
