2017 was one of the driest years of the last decades.
The vine cycle was developing with both warm and temperatures and low precipitation levels. In Summer, the temperatures continued high and it didn’t rain a lot. The beginning of the veraison happened two weeks earlier than in the previous year and the first grapes were harvested during the first week of August, in order to keep the fresher and more aromatic character of each variety. The harvest started with well-balanced levels of alcohol and acidity. The Gouveio was harvested in the middle of August, as well as the Arinto. At last, by the end of the month, the Antão Vaz was harvested, finishing thus the harvest of the white grapes.
