Inspired by the Latin “anima” which means “breath, air, soul”, it was with firm conviction that Herdade de Portocarro decided to bring the Italian grape variety Sangiovese to Portugal. With an exultant aroma and concentration, this wine has an elegance and freshness different to that which the Portuguese are accustomed. In terms of soil, it is a wine whose “terroir” in Tuscany somewhat resembles the “terroir” of Herdade do Portocarro.
Grape varieties: 100% Sangiovese
Tasting notes: subtle and pleasing aromas of cherries and blueberries blended with hints of tobacco and suggestions of toast, which charm with their complexity and linger with a balanced, profound and elegant structure, inviting attentive tasting.
